Denis Bechamp - Wood Sculpture
|
Born in the Southwest, Denis Bechamp always enjoyed working with wood.
Denis began his woodworking career by making decorative wooden bridges for homes in the Southwest. It was not until he was introduced to wood turning that he found his true love. Wood turning allows an artist to create forms in wood that could not easily be achieved in any other way. Denis discovered that through the use of his artistic gift for toning and coloring the turned wood, he was able to create bowls that had a look that was uniquely his own.
Nothing masterful is achieved without hard work and patience thus Denis has mastered a technique for applying clear lacquer in a way that allows his artworks to often be mistaken for glassworks.
Each of Denis' creations is a one of a kind and clients are often advised to grab the one they fell in love with because there will not be another one like it.
